Terms of service
The rules for using Freelance Budget.
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Freelance Budget (the "Service") — the website freelancebudget.com and the Freelance Budget mobile applications for iOS and Android. The Service is published by I Make IT, a single-member limited liability company (EURL) registered in France; full company details are in our Legal notice.
By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the Service.
The Service
Freelance Budget is a budgeting and treasury tool for freelancers. It lets you record missions, clients, invoices, expenses, salaries, taxes and revenue, and it computes projections and statistics to help you steer your activity.
Freelance Budget is a software tool. It is not an accounting firm and does not provide accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. The figures, projections and statistics it produces are estimates provided for information only. You remain solely responsible for your bookkeeping, your tax and social declarations, and for verifying any figure with a qualified professional where appropriate.
Eligibility and your account
The Service is intended for professional use by adults. You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us without delay at contact@freelancebudget.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Free trial
A new account may include a free trial of the Pro plan (currently 7 days). At the end of the trial the account reverts to the free tier unless a paid plan is taken out. Trial offers may be changed or ended at any time.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans (Pro and Business) are offered on a subscription basis and renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices are shown before purchase and may vary by country.
Where you subscribe determines how the subscription is billed and managed. On the website, subscriptions are processed by our payment provider Stripe and can be managed from your account.
Through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the subscription is an in-app purchase billed by the store to your Apple or Google account. It renews automatically and can be managed or cancelled only from that store account (App Store or Google Play subscription settings). The relevant Apple or Google terms also apply to those purchases.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then. Except where required by law or by the applicable store's rules, payments are non-refundable.
Connected services
The Service lets you connect third-party accounts — your bank through open banking (via our aggregation provider Powens) and revenue sources such as Google AdSense, Google AdMob, YouTube, Stripe, the Apple App Store and Google Play. These connections are optional, read-only, and made only with your explicit authorization; you can revoke them at any time.
Connected services are operated by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or actions. How connected data is handled is described in our Privacy policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: using it unlawfully or in breach of third-party rights; attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours; reverse-engineering, copying or reselling the Service; disrupting or overloading the infrastructure; or using automated means to extract data beyond the features provided.
Your data and content
You retain ownership of the data and content you enter. You grant us the limited right to host and process it for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you.
You can export your data and request its deletion. Certain records — notably invoices and accounting data — are retained for the legal period required in France (10 years). The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The Service, its software and design, and the Freelance Budget name and logo are owned by I Make IT and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. No other right is granted.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that projections and figures will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose. Business and financial decisions you make on the basis of the Service are your responsibility.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I Make IT is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profit, revenue or data, or for decisions taken on the basis of figures or projections produced by the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms it or other users. The retention obligations described in our Privacy policy continue to apply after closure.
Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms to reflect changes to features, the law or our operations. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may apply.
